Just when you thought it was safe to throw out your old bell bottoms, the fashion world has called upon them yet again. I can’t say that I mind. They’ve secretly never gone out of fashion in my mind, but I’ve done a pretty good job of keeping them tucked away in the recesses of my closet long enough. Bell bottoms are back, ladies, and I’m here to tell you why that’s a good thing.
First and foremost, flare leg pants accentuate your form and lengthen the appearance of your legs, especially when worn with heels. Something about this cut just makes denim seem more sophisticated, or groovy, if you will. This summer, try pairing them with crop tops, fitted (and tucked in) button downs, a flowing tee or off the shoulder top, or for those cooler nights, a cozy sweater.
I really love high waisted pants, even more so with bell bottoms, it just seems appropriate. This type of cut shows off the arch of your back and curve of your tush, even if that’s not your strongest feature, it helps. I found this great pair at O2 Denim that hugs me in all the right places. If you’ve been with me from the start, you’ll recognize that I wear O2 a lot. That’s because their stretchy denim blends are the most comfortable to wear all day long.. even after an afternoon of indulging. Don’t get me wrong, I still pop open the top button once I’m in the car but at least that sucker stays comfortably put when it needs to. 😉
