Spring is most definitely in the air! The purple jacaranda trees are blossoming all over Los Angeles and the beach air smells sweet with bonfires, BBQ’s and suntan oils. The weekends seem more alive and the farmer’s markets are a dazzling display of nature’s rainbow of goods. Any excuse to be outdoors is a good one.
I visit Fisherman’s Village quite often during spring and summer. It’s an underrated little strip with a couple average restaurants but spectacular views for a sunset cocktail. You’re almost guaranteed to see a couple seals sunbathing on the docks or splashing about with each other somewhere nearby –They make my heart melt with their chubby tummies and prickly whiskers. On the weekend’s, day cruises come in and out and a live band jams by the water, but if you’re looking for peace and solitude, swing by any day of the work week and claim a space of your own. I love this sleepy little corner of Marina del Rey for it’s nautical charm and ability to slow down time just enough to really enjoy the fresh spring air!
